clouds

They say every cloud has a silver lining. As a child, i always wonder what that meant. Silver lining? but clouds are white in colour! how absurd! and with this reasoning, i left the matter at rest, for a few years.

As i was travelling on the train a few days back, on a fine and sunny day, my sight fell upon the the sky outside. What greeted me was a few clouds, glowing magnificently in the afternoon sun, and what i realised there and then, was that it was true. each and every cloud in the sky does have a silver lining afterall.

Humans are, in that sense similar to clouds. Each and everyone of us has a silver lining, a moment of splendour, a beautiful side of us, glowing brightly in the presence of the sun. And although the middle may seem gloomy and dull, comfort should be taken in the knowledge that there will always be this silver lining.

It also brought me to a realisation that we, as do clouds, need the sun. The sun which brings out the best in us. The sun of which light we reflect to give off a beautiful glow. To some, the sun may be a person, to others, maybe an object. To me, it is my Lord

in accordance to some of the arguments made by certain ministers in the parliament of malaysia regarding bloggers, "Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nazri said the government would be taking legal action against bloggers who flagrantly belittled Islam or the Yang di Pertuan Agong."

He also stressed about his worries on the "troubling growth" of irresposible alternative media. Due to many events of which some lead to the arrest and trial of certain malaysian bloggers due to seemingly trivial circumstances, the level freedom of speech in malaysia, a democratic country is in doubt. With ministers also declaring that the nation is islamic instead of secular, we can only wonder how long until investors flee the country.

being the rebel that i am, i shall now say that the YDP ahkong, is a waste of national resources to maintain, and that the position holds no advantage to the state of the country either...it's like employing a sleeping CEO in a corporation. I do not wish to further flame the religion of which the YDP is associated with for fear of my home being bombed by terrorists.

and yes, one can imagine me sticking out my tongue, with one hand making silly faces and the other showing the middle finger to our dear beloved ministers. maybe u can come get me during your private vacation down under which i'm sure are funded by taxpayers, Mr. Lah

it was a rainy, uneventful day for benjamin.

3. scout gatherings and campfires.

4. my friends and them saying "lei mou gum lan diu la, nick"

5. after class during form 4 and 5, lepaking in class chatting, going to scout meetings, eating nasi lemak mak cik at the basketball court, playing basketball at freakin 1-2 pm, going to miss lee tuition, going to mcd lepak and then excel tuition. going to debate practices (not so nice) going to segar pasar malam after tuition. lepaking in cybercafes and abc place.

just got out of microbiology lab...and now im confused and exasperated. i need to get to the tuts later man...shit this sub is memafankan...

on another note, i thought it would be interesting to post some random facts about yours truly.

1. i have problems gaining consciousness in the morning...or any time for that matter.
i really have problems waking up on a desired time. always ends up oversleeping...so if im late or anything, please forgive me. it's a disease i tell ya!!

2. i'm not afraid of the dark. yeps...it's not something i'm born with though :P

3. i do not go after something which i think is not worth my time...yeah, or u could just call me lazy.

4. i own a ps2 bwahahahah! no im not bragging.

5. i developed an addiction for smith's and kettle chips. that's abit random but i cant think of any good facts at the mo...

although sometimes u still wonder whether the changes are done by your own hands or by external factors which are often uncontrollable, it is foolish and i know it is to try and mend things. sometimes, it's just not meant to be mended, sometimes, you need to put a stop to it, and sometimes, you need to find your way out...i have, and i will do it again.

on a sidenote, i passed my exams. and on another side note, i gotta run for work now, and i'm not really feeling up to it...am feeling tired, and i think i got a headache coming up!

ever had the feeling where something big just happened...something important...something of significance...you're happy, very contented, felt at peace for that moment

and then...like an anchor, a rock tied to your feet, the whole weight of the situation sets in...

you then realise that u may not have made the best move...someone may have suffered in return for that joy u were having...guilt then sets in...you wonder what to do next...and you ponder on the possibility that you are not alone in this...

for a moment, just a second, i hope you give me a piece of your mind...for my understanding...

brilliant and magical for a moment, ordinary the next as it integrates into the flowing river that is time, stopping for none. For as we have an enjoyable moment, it seems to flow faster, like torrents down a waterfall, releasing misty droplets that form rainbows under the afternoon sun.
It could also move along calmly, slowly, beautiful and serene, peaceful with every moment we take to stoop down and smell the roses.
